LAVATEC GmbH was founded in Bad Rappenau, Germany, with the vision of revolutionizing the laundry industry with state-of-the-art technology and first-class machines. From the very beginning, the company set standards in the development of efficient and durable laundry systems that are valued worldwide for their quality, reliability, and cost-effectiveness.
“Global expansion – milestones in LAVATEC’s history”
Following its successful establishment in Germany, LAVATEC Inc. was founded in Naugatuck, Connecticut (USA) to further expand its international presence and supply the North American market with innovative laundry technology.
In addition, a branch office was opened in Sarstedt, Germany, to efficiently serve the growing demand for high-performance laundry systems in Europe. With these strategic locations, LAVATEC strengthened its position as a leading global supplier in the industry.
Strategic acquisitions for a stronger market position
As part of its international expansion, LAVATEC acquired the French company Ferlay France, which now operates under the name LAVATEC France. This acquisition strengthened LAVATEC’s presence in the French market and expanded its product portfolio with additional innovative laundry solutions.
This was followed in 1998 by the acquisition of Spencer Dunnewolt in the Netherlands, further expanding LAVATEC’s market position in Western Europe. This strategic integration enabled the company to further strengthen its technological expertise and sales network in order to better serve customers throughout Europe.

With the acquisition of Washex Inc. in Texas, USA, LAVATEC strengthened its market presence in North America and expanded its portfolio with additional state-of-the-art laundry technologies. In 2001, LAVATEC continued its expansion course and increased its production area from 6,000 m² to 13,000 m². This expansion enabled the company to significantly increase its production capacity, produce innovative machines more efficiently, and better serve the growing needs of its international customers.

LAVATEC Laundry Technology GmbH was founded with the acquisition of the assets of the former LAVATEC. This step marked a new beginning with proven experience and an innovative focus. At the same time, several subsidiaries were established to further expand the international market presence and provide customers worldwide with first-class laundry technology.
This restructuring enabled LAVATEC to secure its leading position in the laundry industry and further develop its portfolio of high-performance, efficient, and sustainable laundry systems.
